The Legion of Light was founded on August 1, 1999 by The_Phoenix_LOL. Within 2 days we had 4 members and the web-page was off to a basic but good start. We quickly grew due to heavy recruitment and active participation. Phoenix continued to work on the web-page and soon downloads were added, links, members pages, and many other additions. The site grew and was improved as the skill base in the Legion of Light grew and new members added their knowledge and willingness to help out in maintaining the site.

Upon the release of Age of Kings we became an AoK clan. This was a natural evolution that followed the game’s developments. We grew stronger and the web-site continued to advance. Many passed through the clan but did not have what it takes to develop a relationship with members. Some were eager for power and attempted to advance quickly into positions of authority. The AoK world, being full of skilled players, showed these ones that more was required to become, and remain, an LOL member. Hence, they were quickly dismayed and left upon realizing that rank and devotion to the clan, went hand in hand. Mere skill would not get one far.

It was at this time that The Legion Of Light underwent its greatest changes and hardest trials. Our leader was about to leave. As he began to delegate responsibilities in managing the clan to others... some key members departed, leaving the impression to some, that the clan was unable to survive without Phoenix's influence and leadership. The changes that followed were a testament to the type of people Phoenix was able to attract to the clan. Responsibilities were accepted, and though these did prove difficult times, a new aristocracy in the clan was formed.

Four outstanding individuals took great steps in carrying on the purpose and goals of the Light... it was the labors and actions of One that stood the tests of time. At the end of August, 2000, the website was officially moved to www.ismanu.com/legionoflight. On September 8th The_Phoenix_LOL resigned as leader of the Legion Of Light, after a year in the AoE world. It was at this time that he announced his successor, and new Supreme Commander of the Legion of Light, Drummerman_LOL.

Drummerman's reign was a great time for the Legion. It saw the arrival of The Conqueror's Expansion to Age of Kings, and a rekindled interest with in the clan. Under his expert guidance, and devoted maintenance the Legion of Light remained a prominent and well liked clan in the AoK community. With the help of others, however they could Drummerman_LOL stayed the course with The Legion, but finally, on April 12 of 2001 he resigned his position with the Legion of Light, naming CrazyDwarf_LOL as his successor, and reinstating the position of Captain of the Guard, for Augustus_LOL.

CrazyDwarf ruled well over the lands of the Legion, and under his reign the Approval Council became ever more important, in the administration of the clan, and the Guardians of the Light positions were created for the clans highest members. His reign also saw the continued growth and activity of the clan through active recruiting and the development of a new training system. Also during this time Drummerman_LOL returned to the Light as a second Captain of the Guard. Unfortunately, matters of another world called CrazyDwarf away, and he resigned his position as Supreme Chancellor. The Approval Council quickly elected his succesor, Augustus_LOL, with Drummerman remaining as Captain of the Guard along with Crazy Dwarf.

Augustus_LOL's reign was accepted, like his predecessor's, popularly. With time affairs outside of the realm would cause Drummerman and CrazyDwarf to part with the Legion, but not the Light. Replacing Drummerman as Lead Webmaster was Maveric_LOL, a true and able worksman. For a while Augustus reigned with no Captain's of the Guard, until he created two new posts. These posts were Lord Protector of the Four Houses, granted to Firesword_LOL. And Promotionary Officer, granted to Hunted_LOL. These two new Captain's of the Guard carried out these responsibilities with loyalty and a true sense of duty and still do to this day. The

Age of Mythology would be the Legions next expansion in the gaming world. The Legion consolidated its power under the strong leadership of the Approval Council and Augustus_LOL in the months preceding it and upgraded the site to be more efficient, workable, presentable, and added new content pertaining to Age of Mythology under the guidance of Maveric_LOL the webmaster. As this new age dawned the Legions founder The_Phoenix_LOL was departing from his position as leader of the LOL-EQ division and taking up a role as Supreme Commander of the Legion of Light Organization. A project initiated to bring the two branches closer to gother and promote growth into new and different games in the future.

FireSword_LOL would take over the leadership of the legion when Augustus_LOL stepped down from his position of Supreme Chancellor to become High Lord of Charging Bull. FireSword_LOL's first action as Supreme Chancellor was to appoint Maveric_LOL to the postion of Captain of the Guard and Lord Protector of the Four Houses.

FireSword_LOL's second action was to dissolve the clan laws, and bring the Chivalric Code to the forefront as the binding charter of the Legion. Once this was accomplished an election to choose the new members of the Approval Council was held. As it turned out this would be the last election of the Approval Council in which the following members were elected to serve:  FireSword_LOL (Supreme Chancellor), Hunted_LOL (Captain of the Guard), DUDE_LOL (High Lord - Golden Dragon), Augustus_LOL (High Lord - Charging Bull), Mazarin_LOL (High Lord - Black Leopard), Maveric_LOL (Captain of the Guard) and Squiloogle_LOL (High Lord - Silver Eagle).

The New Approval Council would not serve long as FireSwords_LOL reign would see one of the greatest changes in the legions history. On the 12th of October 2003 at 11:43AM  FireSword_LOL in his last action as supreme chancellor disolved the Approval Council and stepped down as Supreme Chancellor after mandating the election of a new Ruling Council to lead the divison. A clan vote was held and the first ever Ruling Council was chosen, it would consist of; FireSword_LOL, Hunted_LOL (Captain of the Guard), Augustus_LOL (High Lord - Charging Bull), Mazarin_LOL (High Lord - Black Leopard), Maveric_LOL (Captain of the Guard) and Squiloogle_LOL (High Lord - Silver Eagle) and Jedi_Knight_LOL. The new council took up leadership under the guidelines set out for maintaining the clan under the new system; The focal point of the new system would be the democratic process. Every member of the Ruling Council contributes an equal amount to the decision making process.

In October 2004, the second Ruling Council election was held under the guidance of FireSword_LOL, who at the same time announced that he would not seek re-election to the RC. After the polling ended the second ruling council as chosen by the guild was announced, it consisted of the following members; Hunted_LOL, Maveric_LOL, Mazarin_LOL, Jedi Knight_LOL, Ice_LOL, Dude_LOL and GiaBello_LOL.

Immediately following the October clan elections, a long term member FireSword_LOL announced that he was leaving the guild to found an Age of series clan of his own, the The 'Q' Clan. Also at that time another long term member, Augustus_LOL announced that he would be scaling back his participation in the AoM division due to his participation in the EQ2 Division.

In November of 2004, one of our longest standing members was promoted to the highly honorable position of High Lord of The House of the Charging Bull

The AoE-Legion still does carry on under the Ruling Council's guidance, good and strong, its presence is felt on eso and in the AoK/AoM community.
